Valencia, where to eat?

Valencia is one of the upcoming cities in Spain. A lot more travelers an tourists are discovering this city and the beauty it hides. Though Spain is a beautiful and tourist friendly country, it can be hard to find the right places to eat as a outsider. Our different eating habits cause us to eat in the touristic places, instead of the local places where they have great food and even better prices!

So let me guide you through my favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner places!

First off breakfast. Most Spanish people don't have the kind of breakfast we are used to. Their breakfast exists out of a cup of café con leche (coffee with milk) and perhaps a tostada (a toasted piece of bread with a tomato spread). Although this can be nice, I sometimes, need to eat a little more. My favorite place to go have a extensive breakfast is Senyoreta Magdalena.

Senyoreta Magdalena is a cute little bakery which serves a all you can eat breakfast for €6,99!

They serve everything from little sandwiches, to muesli with milk or yogurt, cakes, donuts and sweets.

Second is lunch which is normally between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. One of my favorite places to eat in Valencia is Bar & Kitchen (Mercado Tapineria). It is located on a cute little square surrounded by orange trees in the centre of the district El Carmen. Bar & Kitchen is a place where you can eat all day long. They serve lovely cakes, great paella (which you can order per person), finger licking tapas and more. Bar & Kitchen gives a modern twist to authentic Spanish recipes and they have created the most tasty patatas bravas. All you need now is a Spanish wine or a typical local cocktail, Aqua de Valencia!

And last but not least, dinner! Dinner in Spain starts around 8:00 p.m. Most Spanish people eat a bigger meal as lunch and only eat tapas for dinner. They also take their time to eat dinner and socialize with the people they eat with. So take your time and enjoy all the tapas that there is to try! A place with great tapas is Infanta. Infanta is located on a square also in downtown El Carmen. On this square are not only other restaurants but also so called disco-bars, where people can go for a drink or to dance after dinner. So you can enjoy the tapas and the Sangria, and bust some moves afterwards!

All though there are so many places to have a great meal, these places are definitely in my top 3 and within a budget. So when you are in Valencia and you don't know where to eat, give these a try!
